DeLuna Fest is going to "get a little sideways."
The two-day music festival, set for Oct. 15 and 16 on Casino Beach at Pensacola Beach, announced the addition of country music star Dierks Bentley to its lineup this morning. Bentley’s No. 1 country hits include "Sideways," "Feel the Fire," "Every Mile a Memory" and "What Was I Thinking."
Scott Wheatley, president of DeLuna Fest’s Five Flags Tourism Group, said he believes Bentley will be a popular addition to the festival bill.
"Country music on the beach is something we think a lot of people will enjoy, and we’re happy to bring that to the table," Wheatley said. "I think it’ll help us with the family-friendly environment we’d like to accomplish."
Brent Lane, co-host of the Cat Pak Morning Show on Cat Country 98.7 FM, was also excited about the addition of Bentley to a line-up that features Stone Temple Pilots, 311, 30 Seconds to Mars and more than 15 other national acts, including additional headliners to be announced Friday.
"We are thrilled to have Dierks Bentley back in Pensacola," Lane said. "He is such a great musician. Dierks loves Pensacola and Deluna Fest is a perfect setting for fans to see him on the beach. He brings a lot of energy and will be a great addition to the show."
Bentley last appeared in Pensacola as one of the opening acts for Brad Paisley in January 2009. He headlined at the arena in March 2007, and was among the opening acts during Kenny Chesney’s historic two-night stand in April 2006.
