Are you in a band? Do you think your band has what it takes to play DeLuna Fest, the huge two-day music festival set for Pensacola Beach on Oct. 15 and 16?
Then your friends GoPensacola.com and TK101 - The Rock Station are ready to give you your shot at the opening slot on the GoPensacola.com stage.
We'll be selecting one winning band from Alabama to play on Oct. 15, and another winning band from Florida to play on Oct. 16.
To be considered, you band must have a good reputation, must perform for the public regularly and must have a decent following.
You'll need to provide your band name, a list of your next three live shows, a MySpace or website link, and a link to a YouTube page where we can hear one uploaded song. YouTube uploads can be audio with a frame of your band, link and song title. You are responsible for the audio quality of the YouTube upload.
Submissions must be received by 5 p.m. Aug. 27. Submissions will be judges by a panel of experts from TK101, GoPensacola.com and DeLuna Fest.
On Sept. 7, the top bands will be revealed on GoPensacola.com and tk101.com, and public voting will open. Anyone can vote for their favorite band, but you'll only be able to vote once per day per website (so that's a maximum of twice a day).
Voting will be open until Sept. 24, and on Sept. 27, we'll announce three finalists in each market. Those bands will perform at simultaneous showcases on Oct. 8 at the Soul Kitchen in Mobile (for the Alabama bands) and Seville Quarter in Pensacola (for the Florida bands). Winners will be chosen at the finals.
