There she is, Miss Seville Quarter

The GoPensacola.com editor, who wishes for world peace • August 13, 2010

Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St., starts its search for the next Miss Seville Quarter tonight. Shaleah Bass is in the final days of her reign, so if you think you can compete — or you just want to watch the show — be at Phineas Phogg’s in Seville Quarter at 8:30 p.m. tonight.Ladies will compete in clubwear and bare-as-you-dare swimwear, and any lady who is old enough to drink is old enough to compete. The sign-up closes at 9 p.m., and the show begins at 10 p.m.

Four winners will be chosen to go to the finals on Sept. 11, where Miss Seville Quarter will be crowned. The overall winner represents Seville Quarter for a year, and receives a prize package plus $1,000.

Can’t make it to compete tonight? There will be two more preliminary rounds, taking place on Aug. 20 and 27.

It’s also Woodstock Weekend at Seville Quarter, and the celebration will feature Mike Lawson & Friends and Crazy Otto with special guest Relix founder, Toni Brown with Ed Munson.

Meanwhile, out on Pensacola Beach, Capt’n Fun Beach Club is bringing back one of our favorite bands, Dot Dot Dot, for a two-night stand. Friday and Saturday will be your last chances to see Dot Dot Dot in Pensacola this year, as the band won’t be back this way until spring break 2011, so you want to make sure you catch at least one of their two shows this weekend. They’ve got a new drummer and a new EP, and these two shows are guaranteed to be a great time.
