More
The daily schedule is out for DeLuna Fest, the three-day music festival set for Oct. 15-17 on Pensacola Beach, and it includes a few surprises — namely, some previously unannounced additional acts.
Additions revealed in the schedule released this morning include mash-up duo Skratch ’n’ Sniff, whose weekly hip-hop/hard rock mash-up radio show is heard on Saturday nights on local radio station (and festival sponsor) TK101; Los Angeles-based alt-punk/hip-hop quintet Bad Fathers; and three local artists: dubstep DJ duo Nameless and singer/songwriters Lucas Crutchfield and Dew Pendleton.
The new additions bring the total number of acts set to appear at DeLuna Fest to 39, with four positions on the bill filled with unnamed acts. The opening slots on the GoPensacola.com stage will be determined by a contest sponsored by GoPensacola.com and TK101. Look for more information on Tuesday.
The two remaining slots are being held for Sunday morning gospel music acts to be named later.
With the daily schedule revealed, the price for weekend passes — which guarantee admission to all three days of the festival, including the free day on Oct. 17 — is now $90. Single-day tickets for the first two days of the festival also are now available at $47.50 each. Purchase of single-day tickets does not guarantee admission for the free day. Tickets are available at www.delunafest.com. VIP packages also remain available.
The Oct. 17 lineup will be presented free of charge to as many as 50,000 people. Expenses for that day are being paid for by $300,000 organizers received from the Escambia County Tourist Development Council. That money came from $25 million given to the state of Florida by BP in light of the Gulf oil spill.
Weekend pass holders are automatically included in the distribution of free tickets for Oct. 17. Organizers have not yet announced a distribution method for the remaining free tickets. GoPensacola.com will have the news as soon as a distribution method is announced.
With the schedule announcement also comes news that Wind Creek Casino & Resort in Atmore, Ala., has joined as a major sponsor of DeLuna Fest, claiming naming rights to the second stage. Stage 1 is the Bud Light stage, and stage 3 is the GoPensacola.com stage. Other major sponsors include presenting sponsor Sam’s Club, WEAR-TV3, Red Bull, Coca-Cola, Kona Longboard Beer, Drifter Pale Ale beer, the Pensacola News Journal, MediaCom, Cox Communications, Aylstock Witkin Kreis & Overholtz, the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front, Hampton Inn and Land Shark.
