It’s perhaps the question we’ve been hearing the second-most often over the past few months: Who’s playing Bushwacker Fest?
Today, we have the answers — for the headliners, at least.
The annual celebration of Pensacola Beach’s favorite frozen concoction — more properly known as the Bushwacker & Music Festival, and set for Aug. 5-7 at Capt’n Fun Beach Club on the Portofino Boardwalk, will feature popular post-hardcore band the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (“Face Down”) as its opening-night headliner, while the big Saturday night bill features two of the region’s most popular and enduring party bands, Bag of Donuts and the Molly Ringwalds.
Organizers with Capt’n Fun hope to announces daytime and Sunday entertainment soon. Traditionally, the festival features music throughout the weekend, the Bushwacker 5K run on Saturday morning and, of course, gallons upon gallons of the area’s favorite alcoholic ice cream beverage, served up in special souvenir cups.
Admission to the festival is free, though there is usually a small entertainment fee at night. As this is an alcohol-fueled festival, admission is restricted to ages 21 and older.
