More

The Hangout Music Fest will return to the public beach in Gulf Shores, Ala., on the weekend of May 17-19, sporting two of the biggest names in rock atop yet another stellar festival bill.

Festival organizers announced this morning that the 2013 bill will be topped by rock legends Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Grammy Award-winning rockers Kings of Leon, topping a bill of more than 50 acts including some of the hottest names in electronic music, hip-hop, rock, folk, pop, indie, jam and blues.

A third headliner is yet to be announced and will be revealed shortly.

Among the other top names on the bill are jam band the Trey Anastasio Band, which headlined the inaugural 2010 festival; massively popular dubstep artist Bassnectar; the Roots, best known as the house band on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”; indie-pop stalwarts the Shins; classic rockers the Black Crowes; rap legends and newly minted Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Public Enemy; reggae icon Toots and the Maytals; pop star Ellie Goulding; acclaimed rapper Kendrick Lamar; and newly reunited indie-rockers the Breeders, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their landmark album, “Last Splash.”

Tickets and VIP passes for the festival will resume sale at 10 a.m. Friday, after quickly selling through early bird allotments early this year. The festival sold out its 35,000-ticket capacity quickly in 2011 and 2012 and is expected to do the same in 2013; as such, single-day passes are not expected to be offered. Visit www.hangoutmusicfest.com/tickets for complete ticket info.

Additionally, the festival has announced a major, multi-year exclusive partnership with the cable networks MTV, VH1, CMT and Logo which will result in the festival being showcased across the television and digital properties. Additional details on the partnership are forthcoming.
